The success that Betfair enjoyed continued to grow rapidly and, in 2008, it started to pay things forward through Cash 4 Clubs.Ĭash 4 Clubs is a grant-based program in the UK through a sports funding scheme supported by SportsAid and funded by Betfair and now by Paddy Power Betfair. The Australian registration was the second non-UK license awarded to Betfair after its Malta agreement, and then Austria and Germany also followed. In 2005, it purchased, an online poker site, and also completed a deal with the Tasmanian government to license Betfair Australia in the state. In 2008 they received yet another Queen’s Award for Enterprise but, this time it was for “International Trade.” This second award recognized Betfair for its accomplishment of acquiring nearly 50% of its new customers from outside the UK.īetfair has also made several acquisitions throughout its relatively short existence.
